I know I haven't posted for the past 2 Fridays - but I haven't forgotten about this blog or the remaining "ask andi" questions that have thus far stayed unanswered.
More is coming...
I've just been spending less time on the computer lately (and struggling with a lot of personal things right now which is consuming a lot of my time, energy and thoughts). And the questions I am waiting to answer are ones that require a bit more in-depth thinking and not just off-the-cuff responses.
So if you can hang in there with me a bit, I promise I will respond to your questions.
But in the meantime, just as a quick update on myself and my weight loss/maintenance journey - things are so-so. Exercising has decreased substantially, unfortunately. This time of year I'm more than ready to stop with my videos that I've done all winter long and pick up running again. However, with hubby gone Mon-Fri now again - and me without a treadmill - running happens far too infrequently.
Eating, however, has been pretty decent which is what's helping me keep the numbers under control (although Pepsi intake is not surprisingly higher than what it should be). I have discovered though that I am just really tired of having to keep such a close eye on things. I want to relax a bit and just enjoy life (in fact, get this - yesterday I weighed myself in the morning and then not again until....the next morning!!). However, that needs a balance so that things don't get carried away, as can happen all too quickly.
So for now I try to keep things as balanced as I can, while trying to enjoy special occasions with my family to the fullest at the same time. It's a tricky business, but I'm getting the hang of it...

Nice to hear from you! :) I'm trying to spend less time on the computer as well. Especially with the kids around all the time, sun shining and piles of life all around me, there is a lot better use of my time than staring at a screen. Good luck with balancing it all - it's a neverending work in progress for me!
I think even weighing yourself once a day is still keeping a close eye on things (although, I'll admit that I weigh myself almost every morning). I read something a while ago that I wanted to share with you, but I need to find it again. It was an article about why our weight can fluctuate up to 5 lbs in a day. Lots of things affect it, like the amount of water you've drank, the last time you went to the bathroom, when and what you last ate, etc. It said that some gains can be deceptive, because if you ate a pound of broccoli (for example) and then weighed yourself, you would be a pound heavier, but of course as your body processes the food that weight would go away (because broccoli is low in calories). It said that you would actually need to eat about 27 lbs of broccoli to get enough calories to actually gain one pound for real. I thought it was kind of interesting.
Good luck with finding your balance. I think by now you are very in tune with your body and what it needs (and wants) and I know you can find your happy medium. :)
